In 2023, Pelikan introduced the “Art Collection,” a series inspired by the company’s deep catalog of historic advertising posters. These were the first pens made with the “Aurora” process, using engraved and guilloched brass barrels instead of resin for a holographic effect. Pelikan's new special edition pays homage to the poster art of great painters and avant-garde graphic designers.
Edition 3 - Georg Tippel’s Grundfarben presents the pelican as a nurturing parent caring for its young - a symbol rooted in historical legend and long associated with devotion, responsibility and trust. For Pelikan, this imagery expresses a core philosophy: care for customers, partners and generations to come.
Through form, colour and composition, Tippel transformed a commercial poster into
a narrative image of enduring resonance. His work communicates not only a product, but a set of values - continuity, responsibility and commitment - that remain central to Pelikan today.
The pen utilizes Pelikan’s classic Souverän trim style, including 24-carat gold-plated trim rings at the piston knob and section, dual cap bands, a beak clip, and cap top. Each pen comes with a 14C-585 gold nib available in EF, F, M, and B widths
